Riveting scenes of mountain folk amassing and beasts of jungle and burden squawking and gawking. Traditional symbolism chart.

I was excited to find some of these more elaborately embroidered blankets with the spartan color schemes...only 3. A vibrant marigold orange and warm white for the figures and a dense, denim/canvas thick base fabric in smokey black. I've never encountered this color before.

The blanket has a dense, handwoven cotton base which is then hand embroidered also in cotton. It takes months to complete.

The textile is new but has a vintage feel. Being handmade, some slight imperfections in the weaving and color are normal and to be expected. Some lighter blankets are more prone to slight marks and "scars" and sometimes pen around the figures...testimony to the rustic, jungle living/working/transport conditions of the makers and a naif art badge.

The dimensions are 75 in x 36 in. without the fringe.
