Rust tan camel warm off-white, handwoven tribal textile, Karen Hmong textured striped cotton fabric, Thai bohemian neutral tunic, ethnic decor RN43
This is a hand made fabric by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma and is hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom. The fabric is dense and sturdy like canvas and the horizontal weft stitching is raised and provides a substantial textured hand feel.
RN43 is similar to RN27 but more rust and less camel, less golden. And similar to PO112 and PO113 but those have more blush.
Because of the narrow size of a back-strap loom (narrow to fit the size of the weavers back), the fabric width is correspondingly narrow and this shirt/tunic is constructed of two separate lengths of fabric, folded over at the shoulder of the garment and hand stitched together both on the sides and in the middle front and back. You may of course wear it as a tunic…or it can be re-purposed into cushions, bags, table runners, throws, etc...
The dimensions are about 41 inches long x 29 inches wide (dimensions might vary slightly from one tunic to the other, as well as subtle differences in stripe spacing and thickness). That is, if the side seams were taken out the resulting lengths of fabric would be 82 inches long by 29 inches wide and would make a fabulous table, bed, or couch-back runner.
The items are new but some anomalies and aberrations in handwoven, jungle village items are normal and should be expected.
