Rust, copper brown cotton tunic, handwoven tribal textile, Karen Hmong fabric, Thai bohemian throw AW31

This is a hand made fabric by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma and is hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom. There are dark red embroidered stripes toward the bottom half and red pom poms as decoration. The pom poms can easily be removed if desired.

Because of the narrow size of a back-strap loom (narrow to fit the size of the weavers back), the fabric width is correspondingly narrow and this shirt/tunic is constructed of two separate lengths of fabric, folded over at the shoulder of the garment and hand sewn together both on the sides and in the middle front and back. You may of course wear it as a tunic…or it can be re-purposed into cushions, bags, table runners, throws, etc...

The dimensions are 37 inches long x 22 inches wide per side and without the tassels. The item is new but some anomalies and aberrations in handwoven, jungle village items are normal and should be expected.
