This is a handmade fabric by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma. It is hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom with unbleached natural hemp and organic vegetable dyes for the colors. Because of the narrow size of a back-strap loom (narrow to fit the size of the weavers back), the fabric width is correspondingly also narrow. Perfect for use as a runner, tapestry, footer, body wrap, etc...or re-purposed into cushions, bags, or even PANTALOOOOOONS!!!
The fabric has an exquisite silky-smooth hand-feel yet is dense and durable. And it smells like cinnamon. Elegant.
The dimensions are 63 inches in length x 17.5 inches in width without the fringe. The item is new but some anomalies and aberrations in handwoven, jungle village items are normal and should be expected.
