Lovely, dark and  mysterious, rich-hued handmade cotton material. The weave is loose with big diameter yarn giving a lot of texture for very evident hand feel. Still, it is soft. It reminds me of the weave of a jute bag but without any of the scratchiness. It is handwoven and dyed with natural dyes.

This is a two-tone fabric, made with two different colored yarns. The warp yarns, those running the length of the fabric, are black. The weft yarns, running the width of the fabric over and under the warp yarns, are a rich, dark brown like a chocolate Labrador. This interplay makes gives the fabric super depth and visual energy.

Width is 38.5 inches. The price is per yard of material and each additional "item" will be another yard of fabric. Example: If you buy "5" pieces or items, you will receive 1 length of fabric 5 yards long.

The weight of a one yard length of fabric is about 8.3 oz/235 grams...not to be confused with the Fabric Weight which is calculated from a square yard or meter (more about the density of the weave and yarn).

To facilitate packing and shipping, fabric lengths of any one fabric type will have a maximum length of 20 yards. That is, if you purchase 40 yards of the same fabric, you will receive two sections of fabric both 20 yards in length. Some exceptions may apply.
