Rust blush camel, handwoven tribal textile, Karen Hmong textured striped cotton fabric, Thai bohemian neutral tunic, ethnic decor PO113 LGT
This is a hand made fabric by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma and is hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom. The fabric is dense and sturdy like canvas and the horizontal weft stitching is raised and provides a substantial textured hand feel.
PO113 LGT is similar to RN43 but has less rust, less tan, and more blush elements. RN27 is similar but exhibits more camel and gold. PO113 LGT is also very similar to PO113 DRK and PO112.
Because of the narrow size of a back-strap loom (narrow to fit the size of the weavers back), the fabric width is correspondingly narrow and this shirt/tunic is constructed of two separate lengths of fabric, folded over at the shoulder of the garment and hand stitched together both on the sides and in the middle front and back. You may of course wear it as a tunic…or it can be re-purposed into cushions, bags, table runners, throws, etc...
The dimensions are 40 inches long x 31 inches wide per side. That is, if the dies seams were taken out the resulting length of fabric would be 80 inches long x 31 inches wide. The item is new but some anomalies and aberrations in handwoven, jungle village items are normal and should be expected.
