Huge, Indonesian Ikat tapestry from Sumba, boho home decor, tribal cotton throw, ethnic cotton bedspread tablecloth fabric EW14

Ikat is a time intensive method of creating patterns on fabric by tying off the yarn prior to weaving and dyeing. When dipped in the color, the dye colors the yarn except for the part that is tied off, which remains the original color. When the yarns are woven, these areas create the pattern. Multiple color ikats require multiple tyings and dyeings. The technique is originally from Indonesia.

This is a new, 100% cotton textile in black, gray, and gold. It is machine woven with a finer yarn than the handwoven ikats. Thus, the textile is lighter in weight and subject to fewer aberrations and anomalies. It also allows for a much wider size. 

The dimensions are 89 in x 44.5 in without the fringe.
