Because of the particular handmade/handwoven characteristics, dimensions are intended as plus or minus half an inch. 

The front fabric is cut from a cotton tunic hand-loomed by the Karen or Karian hill tribe ethnic minority in Thailand. They are also know as Pakeryaw. Many folks call their items "Hmong" because the term "Karen" has taken on a negative meaning in the west. I, too, am guilty of doing this. Not to mislead people but simply because folks search for Hmong items even though what they are looking for is a Karen item. It's unfortunate...

The back of the pillow is constructed from a luxurious, medium weight, linen, hemp, and cotton fabric with corduroy type ridges and a wonderful hand feel. The color is a neutral unbleached mottled beige with slight color variations from the natural fibers. This fabric can have naturally occurring ripples and eddies adding to the country-rustic feel.

The two pillows on offer are mirror images of each other; one with the tassels on the left and one with the tassels on the right.

An interlining/fusing has been applied to the rear-side of both the front and back fabrics to maintain fabric integrity and smashing good looks, and a top-of-the-line, YKK-zipper has been chosen for the fill opening to add strength and durability. In addition, all fabric joints have been serged/overlocked to properly seal the edges, prevent fraying, and provide a crisp, clean finish. The last photo shows the professional craftmanship of the inside of all our pillows.

The cotton in these pillow cases is colored using natural, organic, vegetable dyes. This is a more expensive and time-consuming process than using chemical dyes but results in the enchanting character and soft hues of the colors you see in the photos. Note that handwoven textiles may have some aberrations such as wonky threads or other anomalies in the weaving/embroidery. This is why we love handmade!
