Riveting scenes of mountain folk amassing and beasts of jungle and burden squawking and gawking. Traditional symbolism chart.
The blanket has a dense, handwoven cotton base which is then hand embroidered also in cotton. It takes months to complete.
The textile is new but has a vintage feel. Being handmade, some slight imperfections in the weaving and color are normal and to be expected. Some lighter blankets are more prone to slight marks and "scars" and sometimes pen around the figures...testimony to the rustic, jungle living/working/transport conditions of the makers and a naif art badge.
The dimensions are 73 in x 37 in. without the fringe.
