Beautiful, rich brown cotton story quilt Naga tribal textile ethnic embroidered boho fabric Burma hill tribe tapestry Thailand India Hmong II137

Riveting scenes of mountain folk amassing and beasts of jungle and burden squawking and gawking.

The blanket has a handwoven cotton base which is then hand embroidered also in cotton. It takes months to complete.

Please note the stains in the middle of the blanket. You can see a close up of them in the last image. And please take a look at the image of the full blanket to see how they appear when viewing the textile as a whole. They are evident, for sure, but having the blanket in front of you in person they are less obvious.

Please also note that the fluctuations in the color and the mottled look are a result of strobe photography. The flashes are so strong that they bounce off the separate colors that make up the brown. In person, this does not happen and it's just a beautiful, brown color field.

Being handmade, some slight imperfections in the weaving and color are normal and to be expected. The embroidery is so time consuming that they are done in multiple stages, taken out and worked on and then put away again with this process repeated multiple times, giving ample opportunity for them to encounter dirt from the surrounding environment. Some lighter blankets are more prone to these slight marks, scars, small stains, and sometimes pen around the figures...testimony to the jungle living conditions and a naif art badge. This is why we love handmade!

The dimensions are 64 in x 39 in. without the fringe.
