The fabric is soft and supple with a pronounced fabric "grain" that you can feel and gives a rustic sense. This is due to a fairly large diameter yarn used in the weaving. Elegant and luxurious. Rich and robust. Thick with an amazing hand-feel.

Note that the the color of the yardage has subtle gradations of color due to the handmade and organic dye nature of the fabric. That is, the color exhibits wonderful slight variations that underline the handmade nature of the fabric.

The weight of a one yard length of fabric is about 9.8 oz/277 grams...not to be confused with the Fabric Weight which is calculated from a square yard or meter (more about the density of the weave and yarn).
