Exquisite Timor handwoven embroidered cotton textile, Indonesian tribal home decor, Ayutupas buna, neutral cream beige tan ethnic tapestry EW196

This is a man's blanket called an Ayutupas from Timor and the largest embroidered motif is of a gekko (this embroidery technique is called "buna"). It is handwoven cotton and colored with organic vegetable dye which lend it the soft and wonderful color palette, as opposed to chemical dyes which would be much brighter. The quality is superb and the hand weaving and embroidery tight.

It is made of three separate panels that are hand sewn together.

Either side can be utilized.

Total dimensions are about 37 in. x 59 in. without the fringe. The fringe itself is 4 to 6 in. long. If you would like the fringe trimmed down so it's even, I can do that before shipment. 

This is a handwoven and hand embroidered textile. Please expect normal telltale signs of the human textile artist (aberrations in the weaving and embroidery)! Who wants perfect machine made anyway??
