If you are buying a pillow cover from us, consider adding a properly sized insert. When your purchase arrives, it's ready and complete. All our pillowcase listings have been photographed using these inserts.

Our insert/pillow forms are filled with the finest, softest, most expensive polyester fill in existence, hypo-allergenic and NO FOWL HARMED in the process. Millions of ducks and geese unanimously agree "down alternative" is better than any feather/down fill. Apart from avoiding the inhumane feather industry, polyester fill inserts hold their shape better and offer more support. They require less fussing to keep plump and are hypoallergenic. They can be washed in your washing machine. If you like a HUGE "V" in the top of your pillows, this fill will certainly do your bidding. ...True, it might not be as extreme a "V" as with feather inserts. But again, this is no foul on fowl. Is an extreme "V", and not just a big "V", worth the suffering?

The inserts will arrive compressed and after an unpacking and quick fluff-up, they can be tucked into your pillow cover and DONE: your new pillow is lazing pretty on the divan and you have endured no extra trips or trouble or time wasted hunting the proper insert.

The cover material is unbleached, 100% natural cotton, washed, softened, and ironed. It is strong and sturdy but not dense with a high fiber count such as fabric used for feather inserts. In those cases, the dense weave fabric is needed to keep the feathers from poking through the material. With the down alternative, we are able to use a lighter, more flexible material that will fit and fill your pillowcase better.

Note that our inserts have a 7-inch, YKK-zippered, opening so you may add or remove fill as you desire.

SIZING: We recommend using an insert that is 2 inches larger than the size of your pillow cover in both height and width. This ensures you won't end up with sad, deflated looking pillows. Since our inserts have a zippered opening, you can easily remove some fill if you desire a more "languid" look.

If your pillow cover is 20 x 20 inches, you would want a 22 x 22 inch insert. A 14 x 22 inch cover would need a 16 x 24 inch insert, etc.... The smaller pillows don't always need that extra 2 inches (14 x 14 inch, for example) but again, since you can remove fill, it's best to go bigger and remove some fill if needed.

For pillows that have odd-numbered dimensions, simply round up. For a 19 x 19 inch pillow, pretend it's a 20 x 20 and opt for a 22 x 22 inch insert. A 15 x 24 inch cover, use an 18 x 26 inch insert.
