The face of the pillow is constructed using a textile from the Chin ethnic group of Burma/Myanmar. It is handwoven on a back strap loom and colored using organic, natural dyes. The black geometric pattern has an amazing lustrous quality that changes and shimmers with the light and sometimes appears slightly blue or whitish. The 3 or 4 panels making up the front of the pillow have been hand sewn together using the house-and-roof Karen tribal stitch.

The back of the pillow is constructed from a handwoven, unbleached cotton in natural and neutral warm off-white. It is extremely soft to the touch with a very fine corduroy type texture/grain and subtle naturally occurring "speckling" from the unbleached cotton fibers.

Pillow dimensions are about 20 inches wide x 20 inches tall. Because of the particular handmade/handwoven characteristics, dimensions are intended as plus or minus half an inch. Each of the 5 iterations of this pillow on offer may vary ever so slightly from the photos due to each pillow being made from a different, unique textile.

This pillow has an interlining/fusing applied to the rear-side of both the front and back materials to maintain fabric integrity and smashing good looks, and a top-of-the-line, YKK-zippered, fill opening for strength and durability. In addition, all fabric joints have been serged/overlocked to properly seal

The cotton in these pillow cases is colored using natural, organic, vegetable dyes. This is a more expensive and time-consuming process than using chemical dyes but results in the enchanting character and soft hues of the colors you see in the photos.

Note that the handwoven textiles used in this pillow may have some slight aberrations or anomalies in the weaving/embroidery. This is why we love handmade!
